What is this?

Txt2Pray is a free completely automated service offered by Christians for Christians to enable individuals around the world to support one another in prayer.

This service uses only texting and allows you to both submit and receive prayer requests for other Christians around the world.

Why are you doing this?

3 reasons:

  • Personal Impact

    Several years ago when the creator of this service was experiencing a difficult time in their life, they relied heavily on the prayers of other believers. One source that was utilized was a website that listed prayer requests. It was a great time of encouragement to know that people were praying. Being able to make that source of encouragement even easier to access is a goal for this service

  • No Request Left Behind

    There have been many individuals that have created Facebook groups or other online opportunities to share prayer requests and pray for one another. However there arises a challenge to make sure that a prayer request isn't missed. When using this service it programmatically sorts prayer requests so that as much as is possible each prayer request is sent out to an equal number of people.

  • Ease of Use

    People that are less technically-savy have difficulty adopting new apps or using new tools. By using texting, something the vast majority of every individual from every walk of life uses, we can make it even easier to allow people to both pray and be prayed for.

How does it work?

Submit a request

Beta

Text REQUEST followed by your prayer request to (901) 445-9995. Example: request I am sick.

Your prayer request will be sent out to different people for up to 30 days. At the end of 30 days you will be notified that the time has expired. At that point you can choose to continue to have people pray or remove your request from the prayer list.

If for some reason, you submit a prayer request that you wish to remove you can easily do so at any time.

Pray for Others

Text PRAY to (901) 445-9995.

This will sign you up to receive a text weekly on Tuesday at 8 PM CT with 5 prayer requests.

As development progresses there will be more options to configure the frequency and the quantity of prayer requests received

Privacy

This service was designed with privacy in mind. No one else receives your number or any contact info from you. They only receive a list of prayer requests.

Accidentally share something you didn't mean to?
No problem! You can quickly and easily remove a request that you have submitted.

After you submit a request you receive a request number and by replying "del" with the request number, your request will be deleted.
